Medigap is Medicare supplement insurance that helps fill “gaps” in Original Medicare.  Plans are sold by private companies. Original Medicare pays for most but not all of the cost for covered healthcare services and supplies. Some of the expenses that a Medicare Supplement Plan (Medigap) covers are co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles.

Part d

Medicare Part D deals with out patient drug insurance.  This part of medicare is only provided by private companies.
